Privacy
Forgotten Verdicts is a listening experience, not a data business. This page covers the website at forgottenverdicts.com, our podcast feeds, and the London Murders iOS app. The short version: we ask for nothing but an email address, and only if you offer it.
What we collect
- Email address (optional). If you join the Bench waitlist or ask to be emailed when a verdict drops, we store the address you give us and which list you joined. Nothing else is attached to it. We use it to send the emails you asked for, and never sell, rent, or share it.
- Verdict votes. When you lock in a verdict we store the case, the outcome, and the sentence you chose, anonymously. Votes aren't tied to your email, name, or any account. Community percentages are only ever shown in aggregate, and only once at least three jurors have voted.
- Playback counts. Our audio is served through OP3, an open podcast analytics prefix that counts plays from standard server logs (IP address and player user-agent, briefly processed to de-duplicate downloads). We see aggregate numbers, not who you are.
What we don't do
- No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics scripts, no fingerprinting, no social pixels, on the site or in the app.
- No accounts, no passwords, no profiles.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with anyone, ever.
On your device
Your juror record, verdicts sealed, cases judged, streaks, lives on your own device (and, on iOS, in your personal iCloud key-value storage if enabled, which only you and Apple can access; we can't read it). Saved hearings for offline listening are files on your device. Delete the app or clear your browser data and they're gone.
Notifications
If you allow notifications in the iOS app, drop alerts are scheduled locally on your device from the public episode calendar. There is no push server, and nothing about your notification choices leaves your phone.
Data removal
Want your email off our lists? Use the leave option in the app, or write to [email protected] and we'll remove it promptly.
Changes
If our practices change, this page changes first, with a new date at the top.
